Look so fine feel so low

I've been seen on the street
Wearing brand new clothes
I guess I've landed on my feet
I'm a lucky guy I suppose

She tells me that she loves me
She buys me things
She wants to take care of me
And all I gotta do is sing sing sing sing

Well I look so fine but I feel so low

She takes me by the arm
She takes me all around
She knows all her friends are talking
Saying look what our good girl's found

One thing she's got on you
she's so easy to impress
When she asks me dumb questions
All I gotta do is say yes yes yes yes

Yeah I look so fine but I feel so low

  1. Where: "I've been seen on the street, wearing brand new clothes"

Why: Right from the start he's making a social comment on Materialism.

    Where: "I'm lucky, I suppose"
Why:Society expects him to feel lucky, like he has all he needs because he has possessions.
He's not convince "I suppose"- social comment that there is more to life than possessions. Society values material things.

    Where: "She buys me things"
Why: Relationship is weak because girlfriend feels love can be bought.

Where: "Well I look so fine, But I feel so low"
    Repeated to emphasise.
Why: He is materially wealthy but deep down he is depressed, emotionally and morally he feels owrthless.
Social comment on 'keeping up appearance"
    - we dont let people see what is really going on in relationships or our lives.

HUMANS ARE WEAK BECUASE WE ARE VULNERABLE, WE HAVE TO HIDE THE TRUTH OR PEOPLE MAY USE IT AGAINST US.

People with wealth are expected to be happy because thats what matters in society. Think of "To Her Door"

Where: "One thing she's got on you, she's easy to impress"
    Why: singing to ex
    - doesn't love new girlfriend
-like his life its all an act.
